Crane Humidifier [giveaway]

May 13, 2012 By Stephanie

We are exceedingly grateful that our girls very rarely get sick.

On the rare occasion that we find ourselves with the flu or the sniffles, I do what my mom always did. I increase fluids (especially water), increase rest (lots of sleep and lounging about), and increase touch (holding my little ones close, sometimes all through the night).

We also have a little mental catalog of home remedies: vitamin C for colds, honey for coughs, plain yogurt for UTIs, and humidifiers for stuffy noses.

Crane offers a wide variety of humidifiers – with different size, colors, and features. The Adorable humidifiers [pictured below] are shaped like animals and cartoon characters…and sure to be adored by little ones. We received Chauncey the Polar Bear for review and were quickly impressed. He’s quiet (so important!), powerful, portable…not to mention adorable! Oscar the Owl and Elliot the Elephant are our other favorites.

So, I discovered to my dismay and disgust (both mental and olfactory) that there is this thing put out by VICS that looks like a humidifier, but is actually something else – something icky that puts out hot steam and smells like plastic and feet. Thankfully, I found it at a yard sale for only $3, so it wasn’t a huge loss. Well, except now my husband is convinced that real humidifiers are the same kind of abomination, which is a real shame. Anyway, I would LOVE to win one of these humidifiers!! I have a brand new 2 week old baby at home, and it would be sweet indeed to have one of these super cute and oh so wonderful REAL humidifiers in our home! I especially love the cow :)

I want one for our little one we’re expecting because she’ll be born right during the fall and when we have the heat on in our house, it can get so dry that my fiance sometimes gets a bloody nose. I bought an animal-looking humidifier about 3 years ago (I think it was a penguin) and it ended up leaking all over my bedside table and ruining it! I don’t know what brand that was though. I’m willing to try again, since we do use humidifiers around here occasionally.

These would look so much better in my little boys room than my 15 year old square brown one! :)
You don’t realize how important one is until you have a sick child.

First of all, these humidifiers are too cute! When my toddler was sick recently, we had to haul the big one that we use in our room down to her room. It helped a lot, but it was just too big in there. They look like they would be the perfect size in her room.

We LOVE our Crane humidifier! Such great products, and necessary here in Arizona where it gets just so dry!!

We just bought two of these for our girls’ rooms and I’m wishing I bought myself one! Boy is it quiet (our last humidifier was something like 14 years old and so LOUD).

Both of our kids struggled with allergies this year – for the first time. Yuck! These humidifiers are too cute and would be a great asset to have. Not sure how I would pick though! I say the dog, our daughter picked the elephant and our son liked the cow. Tough choice!

Those are soo cute! I love the owl!! Humidifiers are so important I’m learning in my living in the desert. Funny to think that when I lived in Michigan we had de-humidifiers instead. :)

My favorite is Elliot the Elephant. It would be nice to have a humidifier on hand. Currently we don’t have one at all tight now. My allergies have been terrible this season. I bet a Crane humidifier would help.

Humidifiers are a must have in the winter for stuffy noses! Ours was broken in the move in February, and we haven’t replaced it yet. I’ve heard lots of good reviews about Cranes, so I’ll definitely be checking them out before next winter!

We have never had a humidifier and I would enjoy trying one out. They are very on trend with the owl one. Owl designs seem to be popping up in nursery decor.

These are very cute! My girls would much rather a humidifer like ones of these in their room instead of the “normal” one we are using. in Colorado – much like Arizona these are a must.

I have seen these and thought the elephant one was cute. We have an older Vicks brand one. When our children are not well, I rub Vicks Vapor rub on their chest or nose. I also give them gummy multi-vitamins, a chewable probiotics teddy bear pill (for good digestive enzymes), and liquid VitaminD (Carlson’s brand – since it is not always sunny here in the winter).

    Runny nose :(

All three of my kiddos have sinus problems, and we have used different brands and types of humidifiers. Crane makes one of the best humidifiers. Unfortunately, my husband accidentally dropped our Crane humidifier, and it broke. So now we are stuck using a humidifier that we don’t like as well and that doesn’t work as sell as the Crane.

Thankfully my daughter rarely gets sick either. A few months ago both she and I got a really bad cold and borrowed my Mother in Law’s humidifier and it was a life saver. I couldn’t believe the difference it made. I need to buy one of my own, but haven’t done it yet.

As a pediatrician, I recommend humidifiers to my patients multiple times a day, and I love using them at home to help when the cold/flu come around. They’re great for kids and adults! These look so fun for the little ones! Also my favorite go-to baby shower gift! Please enter me!

I have been on the market for a new humidifier. From the first moment I notice any sniffling, we use it. I truly believe that it helps our little ones get over their colds sooner. I really like the elephant humidifier they have. Very cute.

Sign me up! I was told by a friend that a humidifier is an oft-overlooked baby necessity, so I’m glad you’re offering one. We, too, try to avoid medication.

We so rarely get sick, too! What a blessing. I think I can count on one hand the number of times we have been sick! We use a humidifier in the winter when the heater makes everything so dry. I even like having one in our room when we are sick! I love the owl and the elephant!
