FOR KIDS: Inventive Parent

December 10, 2008 By Stephanie

FOR KIDS: Inventive Parent 1Have you ever been doing something for/with your kids and suddenly thought, “somebody really needs to invent a…”? Those are the kind of thoughts that lead to brilliant products and services – and some parents actually act on their intuitions and go on to become savvy businesspeople. All because of a “problem” that they experienced…

For example, my 2-year-old daughter loves eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, but isn’t particularly fond of the crusts. I actually sympathize with that preference because the best part of PB&Js is assuredly the soft bread, the creamy peanut butter, and the fruity jam.

FOR KIDS: Inventive Parent 2Somewhere out there another parent was experiencing that exact same dilemma and thus invented the Good Bites Sandwich Slicer and Decruster ($5.99). Just press the cutter down and there you have it…a sandwich without the crust! Yes, it’s wasteful, I know (I do feel the tiniest bit guilty when I use this contraption…), but it’s also fun and makes the sandwiches taste oh-so-yummy.

FOR KIDS: Inventive Parent 3That’s just one example of many clever products that are the brainchild of smart parents. You can find other products in that category over at Inventive Parent, a family-owned business that specializes in parent-invented products. From swaddle blankets to nursing covers to eco-friendly toys, there are products in almost every category.

WIN IT! One winner will receive a $20 gift certificate to Inventive Parent. To enter, browse the Inventive Parent website and leave a comment on this post stating what you would buy or what catches your eye prior to Monday, December 15 at midnight (don’t forget to follow the rules). * Winner must provide a U.S. mailing address.

FOR AN EXTRA ENTRY: Link to my site! Anywhere! You can add one of my buttons to your blog, add me to your blogroll, add my site to your Facebook page, you choose…Then, come back here and leave a second comment with a link to where you linked to me.

***For a complete listing of all of the reviews and giveaways in my “Super Stocking Stuffers” series, click here.

*UPDATE* The winner is #54 Shasta. Congratulations!

Heck I’m lucky if the plate stays on the table. I also really like the sandwich cutters its such a neat idea. Thanks for a great giveaway.
