I should send out a press release with that title.
Even though I don't really have an award to hand out.
But, IF I did, aden + anais would get it.
These receiving blankets trump all other receiving blankets and swaddling blankets that we have tried (yes, even the highly-acclaimed "Miracle" Blanket...).
Actually, we recently put all of our other blankets in a bag to giveaway to charity or to friends. That's how much we like these blankets.
They're soft and snuggly, yet not too thick/warm. They're also generously sized so you can use them beyond the itty bitty newborn stage. We don't swaddle our baby super tight like some people do (you can use the blankets for that as well though...), but they are great for wrapping her loosely or blocking the sun from her precious skin. They're just great - period.
If you're registering, add these blankets to your list. Yes, they're a little pricey ($29.95 for a 2-pack; $44.00 for a 4-pack), but they're also awesome. We use them every single day.
Speaking of registering, feel free to peruse my previous posts on the topic if you're interested:
WIN IT! One winner will receive a 4-pack of aden + anais muslin wraps {in his/her choice of design}. To enter, leave any topic-related comment on this post prior to Monday, May 18 at midnight (Don’t forget to follow the rules…all generic comments like “Enter me!,” “Love it,” and “Cool stuff!” will be disqualified.).
*UPDATE* The winner is #3 Sara. Congratulations!
Will Aden+Anais work for both swaddling and receiving blankets?
Yes! They're very versatile blankets. Super soft, breathable, and generously sized.
Aden + Anais has a new Facebook page dedicated to their products. We use them every day for much more than just swaddling. They were warm enough for winter, but especially now with summer coming I'm so glad I bought these blankets. We use them to cover the stroller and make shade, to lay on in the grass, I used them a lot to cover up while breastfeeding. He can't fall asleep with out an Aden + Anais blanket, but thank goodness they don't make me hot too.
Check out the Facebook page.
I love all those pink designs! Swaddling really does help babies calm down :)
I realized too late that I love these blankets -- i wish I had registered for them so I could've swaddled my daughter in them from day one!
I adore the Pink/Brown Muslin Swaddling Blankets - 4 PACK.
i've heard great things about these wraps. my little one goes right to sleep when she's swaddled but the blankets i have are a little small. These would be great to have.
Baby boy due in August so this would be something we would really use! Very nice quality!
These blankets look very soft, I will have to order some for my daughter. I love the pretty designs on them!
I love the earthiness of their products and the subtle relaxing colors.
I seen these before. They look like they'd be pretty good. I'm going to try wrapping my babiy more this time around - I did a littl ebit with my daughter but dind't seem to notice a difference but keep reading and hearing good things abou tit. They all look lovely and I'd love to use them!
those look really nice i used to have those cotton baby wraps which looked pretty raggedy after being washed a few times i bet these hold up great :)
The zoo animal wraps look neat [email protected]
My son hates to be swaddled yet I have to do it every time he naps/sleeps because he still constantly wakes up when his arms fall or flail around. I'll have to check these out because most receiving blankets are just too small.
I would love to give these to a friend for her new little one
This would be great for my cousin who just had a newborn.
I think a lot of new parents don't really understand the benefits of swaddling... until 3am some morning when baby still hasn't been comforted!
I have heard such RAVE reviews about the aden + anais blankets. I can't wait to try them with our next baby. I am a firm believer in swaddling (and babywearing).
The Pastel Traditional Girl Muslin Wraps 4-pack are my favorite. I loved the receiving I had when I was a kid, I carried it with me everywhere when I got older (I still have it packed away somewhere safe now). Thanks for the chance to win these great blankets.
nice to have blankets that grow with your kid
I read in the book The Happiest Baby on the block that swaddling is one of the S's for comforting a baby. I would love to win these. Swaddling is important not just for comfort but for warmth as well. It also can protect against SIDS because it is harder for a baby to wiggle out of a good snug swaddle.

I love their Camo Muslin Wraps and Mod Muslin Swaddling Blankets
Ah, Ive used the Winter Warmth blankets, and they are wonderful.
These seem like they will make a good summer blanket!
They have the prettiest designs to choose from!
Thanks
I would love the chance to win, thanks.
These are a great size! I have actually found that swaddling for at least a month really helps the baby adjust to life outside the womb. Thanks for the chance!

The Black and White Muslin Wraps are my favorite.
I finally broke down and bought a 2 pack of Aden and Anise blankets and I LOVE them. We hang dry all of our laundry and these stay nice and soft. I would love to win more. We use them every day and they will be all I want when #2 comes around.
i am pregnant with my 4th child. my other 3 children have a special blanket that they have had since they were born. my 11 year old still sleeps with his (when his friends aren't spending the night!) and my 3 and 1 year olds take theirs everywhere. blankets are very special in our home. :)
we love swaddling blankets.couldnt live without them
I just told my husband that the aden and anais wraps are one of the few items we need for our next kid. So many people rave about it and tell me it's a necessity
I didn't use wraps with my oldest, I didn't really know about them - man I missed out!

I wish I knew about swaddling from the get-go! My little one would have been so much happier. I love the large size of these and the material seems to suit our weather just fine.
I love the Mod Print! Very cool. I would love to have one. Thanks for the chance.

my daughter's baby is due in septmber and we have been discussing blankies, you know, their favorite one they have fits over if they lose it or if you wash it .since this is a larger size it will work up to college.
These will be great for my son, who is due in September!
I like the Zoo pattern and the Navy/lime,they look lightweight and would be great for the summer
I have heard these blankets are amazing! My favorite pattern is the Sage.
I never swaddles my babies, but I wish I had. This would be such a nice baby shower gift for my friend's daughter. Thanks for the chance.
i swaddled all three of my children and oh what a difference it made. creating the comfy feeling for baby is also a comfort for mom and dad when it comes time to calm a fussy baby. it is wonderful that you are providing a product that is functional, natural and necessary!
my favorite design is the Zoo Animals. we expecting in July and very excited!
I would love to win these for a friend who is expecting.
love the hooded towels
soft and cuddly [email protected]
My sister in law is due in july and this would be great for her
My friend is due with her first baby (a little girl!) in August and as a new mom she is willing to try everything to make the transition a little easier. Besides, these wraps are adorable!
I absolutely LOVE these blankets! I live in Phoenix and have a one month old and these have been the perfect blankets to wrap him in because they are cool enough for our hot weather. If only they made some sort of baby carrier in this fabric!
We don't have our little one yet, but I am a huge fan of muslin and don't think I'd buy anything else. I've seen how hot our friends' babies get in the typical flannel blankets plus they're always super small. No thanks! I love the mod pack. Thanks so much!
sign me up
They have very cute items. I especially love the hooded towels and washcloths sets.
These blankets look so beautiful and cozy! Thanks for the entry!
These are great, I'd love to win the Zoo Animals!! Thanks
I love these blankets, especially the ones with little stars on them. So darling.
I've yet to actually feel these blankets but they look amazing. I love that they are light weight for the summer and have great color choices like the eggplant/gray set.
a good blanket is one the best items to have as a new mom, these look perfect
I like that you said they aren't too warm, which is exactly what I need! I am always looking for the perfect blanket.
Oooh, my friend is about to have a preemie..little boy! These would be a great present for her.
We're so short on receiving blankets for our upcoming bundle of joy, we definitely need a contest like this.
I was a huge believer in swaddling with my first. I swaddled him for at least 6 months. I like the weight and size of these blankets, I have been eyeing them for when I have a second baby, but winnig them would be nice too. Thanks for the chance MM.
I have a 8 month old and receivers really came in handy!
my beast friend is expecting and i would love these for her! I also passed along along the link to your registering tip blogs! thanks!
My daughter is 7 months old and we still use these type of blankets every single day! She wasn't a fan of being swaddled, but my son was. He LOVED it. It was so sad giving away his little boy blankets when I found out I was having a girl.
With my first baby, I didn't get the hang of swaddling--I didn't understand that you kind of have to make them like it! With my second, though, I swaddled her all the time. We received so many wonderful homemade blankets with our first (which my daughter is still using), but none of them were really swaddle-friendly, so with our second I made a few flannel receiving blankets that did the trick. Much larger than those dinky ones you can buy in the store! The aden + anais ones sound lovely.
I agree that it is great to have blankets that are big enough to grow with your kid! My mother-in-law made me a few over-size receiving blankets for my daughter and I love them! I also love that they are not in the typical baby-pastel or gender-biased colors. Good to see that A+A has styles that fit the same category!
Ive heard lots of great things about these! I think the Mod print is adorable!
I have been dying to try these, but I don't have a newborn. So I'd give them to my cousin who is expecting her first!
I have heard NOTHING But wonderful things about Aden + Anais Wraps! They have a zoo pack that is just so adorable!
Muslin is a unique cotton fabric first introduced into England in the late 17th century. Muslin has a light, open weave that allows air to flow seamlessly through the material. The soft natural fibers allow your baby's body temperature to adjust naturally.
How interesting is THAT?
Many Many thanks for the chance to win this Blessing!!!
Leslie
These blankets have gotten rave reviews from many other moms I trust, too! It seems that they are the perfect weight!
AND they're super cute! I love the simple designs and calming colors.
Our first was completely addicted to being a tightly swaddled "baby burrito" - Nothing but the tightest and best Velcro for him! I hoping when baby girl makes her debut, she'll be less addictive :) and happy with a loosely wrapped cuddly blankey. And it'd be truly wonderful to replace those old gender neutral receiving blankets with something sweet and feminine.
I wouldn't have made it through the first three months of my children's lives if it weren't for my much-practiced swaddling technique. Fortunately for me, neither were summer babies, but I have a sister who is due in a couple of months, and another who would like to be having a baby in about a year from now. These blankets would be perfect gifts for them!
I have to agree with you! My son was born in the summer so while he loved to be swaddled...most blankets were too hot. It was my lactation consultant who recommended these. They really are fab blankets! My son loved to be swaddled in them! : )
These look nice--it's great to see some bigger sized receiving blankets!
I would love these recieving blankets for the baby on the way!
Great reviews. I just went to add them to my registry (due June 17th!) but couldn't find them on the babies r us website. Where do you recommend getting them from? Thanks for the chance to win!
Wow that is really pricey for me but if you say they are great then I'll have to register for them and see how it goes. My favorite blankets are always the ones that are a little thicker/thin really soft cotton ones they usually come with just one, I know that is a great description, sorry.
i've heard nothing but raves about these blankets. our son was so long that we quickly grew frustrated with typical receiving/flannel blankets. I'd love to get some for my sister and her newborn Annabelle.
I've seen these in the store and they are beautiful. I would have loved to wrap my babies up in something like this. Since we might be "done" I'd love to pass some to a pregnant friend.
My friend is having her firt baby and her baby shower is next month. this could make a gr8 gift along with some bath and body stuff i have got for the baby!!
Those would make a great baby gift! A good swaddling blanket is a necessity for a new momma. I actually loved some that I got from Walmart of all places. They were perfectly sized and worked for winter and summer...granted we have mild winters here.
Our favorite receiving blanket has been by Swaddle Designs. So far we haven't found any other blankets that are big enough but this one looks like it is! Yay for big blankets! I also love that it's lighter weight since we are entering the summer season.
Thanks for the chance to win!
My best friend has a newborn baby and I would love to give these to her to swaddle her baby. Thanks!
On DD2 we thought we'd found the best swaddling blanket ever...and then our baby backpack was stolen, with it inside. We didn't replace it, because it too was a bit on the expensive side. But, for the next one, I'd love to win these beautiful blankets. And the best thing is that they sell them in packs of 2 and 4. We had our one and when it was soiled, nothing compared. Thanks for sharing this find!
I had to "borrow" a couple of the hospital receiving blankets because that is all babe would use...these look fabulous! I have tried everything too!
K.
I love how lightweight these blankets are since #2 will be here in July. Little babies need a little cover even in the summer!
My girls are older now, but they LOVED to be swaddled when they were infants! I love nice-size blankets that aren't the "generic" type you can pick up anywhere! These look fabulous! Great giveaway - thanks for offering!

We used these swaddle blankets with my daughter when she was little and they are truly the best. We now use them for all sorts of things and they are going strong. They are great in the summer to place over the stroller shade to keep out the sun but also allow air flow and a breeze! They are a must for new moms (in my humble opinion).
When I was young, my mom took a scratchy wool Army blanket and sewed a duck print on top of it. I used "Ducky" well into college and beyond. Occasionally it still gets put on my bed, especially when I'm sick. Yay for awesome blankets!!
If I won these, it would make me the queen of the next baby shower I went to.
This would be great for summer swaddling, as I understand they're very breathable. We have and use (and love) the miracle wrap right now, but the material seems like it will be too thick for super hot summer nights. Thanks for a chance to win a pack!
These blankets look awesome, I've never heard of them before. Since I have little babies, they enjoy being swaddled for a long time. Thanks for linking to these, I will have to get some!
These blankets do look great. I distinctly don't like the "receiving blankets" that you buy in a 4-pack at Wal-Mart. A friend of mine made me some awesome big receiving blankets when Sugar was born - we really like those, but they are um, "girly" and I think Hubby will have something to say if he sees me using those in public with Baby Boy :)
As a child, I had a blanket that I loved. I took it everywhere, including Kindergarden, and, I'm not too proud to admit, my honeymoon. That's right, I love my blanket so much that at 30 years old, I still sleep with it every night, and take it on vacations. My husband laughs at me all the time. Anyway, I have 2 little girls (5 & 2months) that I am sure would love one of these awesome blankets! Thanks for the giveaway!
My daughter is expecting her first child in September. I would LOVE to present these as a gift to my first grandchild. Thanks for offering!
I still use receiving blankets for our 17 month old, especially as a sheet/light blanket in the summer when she's napping or sleeping. I like that these ones are bigger than some of the others, especially because she's older. Thanks!
My daughter spent a week in the NICU after she was born, so she was a HUGE fan of being swaddled! I'd love to try these on our new baby!
These look GREAT! I love the fact that they are bigger blankets...I hate the typical small-sized receiving blankets...I've never understood why they can't be just a little bit bigger! It's also nice to know that they aren't TOO thick. That's always something I try to avoid since it's warm enough here in Arizona : )
I am so glad that I found your blog! It is a lot of fun and I am excited to be following you!
My "comfort" item growing up was a receiving blanket someone made for me. We'll see what this little guy decides is his... but it's hard to top a nice, comfy blankie :-)
