SLY Awards: Bondi Band

June 14, 2010 By Stephanie

SLY Awards: Bondi Band 1SLY Award recipient Nicole Bateman is a runner and fitness enthusiast. She might contest the “enthusiast” part, but…no one can argue that she is committed to staying healthy and fit. This year, she set a goal to run in 3 5Ks and she’s already run in two (Actually, one of them was a 5-miler! Woot!).

As such, I’m confident that she’ll be excited to select a headband or moisture wicking hat of her choice from Bondi Band.

Bondi Band is a Maine-based company that offers comfy, colorful, and creative headbands and moisture wicking hats to fit every lifestyle and personality. They’re designed to be comfortable/stretchy and form-fitting at the same time for optimal performance without the headache.

Plus, the company donates 10% of their pretax profits to charity.

Here are a few images to give you an idea about what is currently available:

What a great idea! I don’t wear hats often because my hair is very long (down past my thighs). I would love one of those!

I like the wicking hats; they are great while exercising and stylish (I like the slogan run like an animal and the sun symbols).

These are the sweetest hats. I’ve always felt my ponytail should stay outside the cap and sway back and forth as I jog on the street. These are really sweet.

Never seen such a thing… this would be perfect for my sister-in-law, an avid runner with long hair. I’d definitely get the ponytail one for her.

I started a boot camp this week…it is fun…hard but fun! Last night I ran 2.92 miles and it felt great! My shin splints are gone for now and I like the challenge. I am looking at 5ks to run…need to set goals for myself like you and Nicole have!

Wow. I have long, THICK, unmanagable hair and can never wear a hat. This would certainly do the trick!

What a cool idea. I take a cycling class and I constantly have issues with sweat in the eyes. Same with my cardio class. The no-slip thing is the clincher.

such a cute idea. would love one.

  24. chelsea says

What a great idea! Now that it is getting warm, it’s hard to think about needing to keep my head and ears warm while running, but one of those would be SO handy in the winter.
I’ve found that having great looking and fun running gear really does motivate me to run more. Maybe I shouldn’t be that way, but I am.

  25. Theresa Dell says

    June 15, 2010 at 6:19 pm

Thats so cool looking. It would be perfect for jogging on cold days.

These are hilarious but would be fun to wear. At least it gets cold part of the year here in Tucson.

I love the name! Having lived in Sydney for a couple of years, I loved to go to Bondi Beach and watch everyone enjoying the outdoors.

They were really thinking when they made the ponytail hole! Nothing is worse than having to fit my thick pony tail in a beanie!

My goal is to run a 5K this year…I need to sign up for one!

  29. jennym says

What a perfect solutiona for us cold weather runners.

  30. Erica says

    June 14, 2010 at 10:13 pm

Those are exciting! I actually love the beanies most because of the ponytail hole. I’ve always wanted to do that to a beanie but didn’t want to ruin one, so it’s great to know they make one!

  31. Vanessa says

    June 14, 2010 at 9:11 pm

I hate sweating when I exercise so this would be super great to have!

  32. Becca says

  33. Terri F says

    June 14, 2010 at 6:44 pm

These look interesting…I dislike sweating, yet need to get exercising. Perhaps this would help to some degree…I was thinking of a headband of some sort, but these look pretty cool!

I love how you can pull your ponytails out of the way.

  35. Christine Jensen says

    June 14, 2010 at 6:20 pm

I LOVE Bondi bands (I have about 8 of them!) and totally want to try one of those ponytail hats!

  36. Ashleigh says

    June 14, 2010 at 3:43 pm

What a neat little invention. When I was younger and I wanted to go running during the winter, I’d cut holes in the top of my beanie hats and pull my ponytail through them. It was really nice to have, but I ended up ruining a bunch of winter hats. I would love to have these for my outdoor exercises.
