Anyone who knows our family knows that we rarely eat out. Eating in is less expensive (an important factor since we live on a tight budget). It's typically much healthier. And the cherry on top is that it's MUCH yummier.
We seriously eat like kings and queens. Grilled Salmon w/ Cinnamon Sweet Potatoes. Chicken Enchiladas with guacamole. Homemade pizza with the toppings of our choosing. Etc.
When we do eat out, we prefer local places with...you know...actual chefs. They tend to be pricier (which is okay since we seldom eat out - "quality over quantity" is our mantra...), but they also offer more nutritious offerings and better service.
One such "chain" is FOX Restaurant Concepts - "a collection of original, thriving boutique restaurants in Arizona, Colorado, Texas and Kansas." I've only been to two of their restaurants, but if those experiences are any indication, I would recommend them all. The atmospheres are modern and decidedly upscale - and the food is fresh.
Each restaurant offers a different culinary focus and experience. You can opt for Spaghetti Squash Casserole with Fresh Mozzarella, Organic Tomatoes & Zucchini at True Food Kitchen. Or an Herb Crusted Rack of Lamb with creamy potato, warm asparagus & spinach salad at Wildflower. Or any number of flavorful dishes at the other 10 restaurants.
SLY Award recipient Dayna Hadden will receive a $25 gift card to use at the FOX restaurant of her choosing.
Have YOU ever been to one of Sam Fox's restaurants? What was your experience like?

I haven't been to one of Sam Fox's restaurants before but they sound very interesting!
I have not visited this restaturant before.
I haven't been to their restaurants before, but they look good!
I've eaten there a few times & it's fantastic. My youngest son is a picky eater & he loves the homemade pizza.
I'm a real fan of Sam Fox's restaurants. So far my favorites are North and Montana Avenue.
I have never been to a fox restaurant but I see they have one not too far from me so I would love to try it.
this would be great.we have a fox restaurant in our small town.thanks
We've been wanting to try Montana Avenue for a while. I've heard great things! Zinburger sounds good too.
We love Fox Restaurants! North is probably our favorite for date nights and/or anniversary. Although, going to Zinburger for anniversary in three weeks would be a great change. Great food and great restaurants all around.
We are big fans of Fox Resturants as well, infact every one we have been to I would go back too, and have. Zinburger is one of our top favs!!We have great service everytime and the food is amazing. I would really like to try the Greene House but there isnt one in Tucson :(.
Fox Restaurants are my favorite in Tucson! Montana Avenue was my first and I happen to love their ever-changing ravioli, but I think Zinburger is my favorite. I absolutely LOVE the zucchini and truffle fries! I've also eaten at Blanco, they have great enchiladas, and North, their asparagus bruschetta and artichoke heart appetizers are delicious! It's hard to order whenever I go to a Fox restaurant because everything looks simply amazing!
I have never eaten at any of the FOX restaurants but I would love to try them! Your facebook reminder to comment was wonderful by the way, I meant to and got sidetracked, so thanks for reminding me.
We have one not to far from here in Leawood, Kansas. I have not been yet, but I've heard amazing things. Thanks for the chance to check it out!
Yummy! I love Montana Avenue! The food is great, and the mirror in the bathroom is hilarious. :)
I've never been to any of the Fox Restaurants but we did just move to Arizona and I think I heard the local news talking about Bloom. Their menu looks great. Thanks.
I have been to several FOX restaurants. Fox used to be a part of the Tucson originals till they expanded to Phoenix and beyond. If you like local places- Tucson Original website is great to check and find about local restaurants and specials.
I have been to North, Montana Ave, and Sauce. North is a wonderful experience of delicious food made in different ways. The lunches are a bit cheaper, so if you are looking to save a little and still try the place- go for lunch. My favorite is the white Lasagne. It is white, not red like most of us are used to and it is AMAZING!
Montana Ave is pricey, but delicious. If you have friends with Gluten allergies, they offer a wonderful flourless chocolate care- perfect for those who can't take Gluten. I also like their Ostrich burger- yumm!
Sauce is the Fox answer to fast food. Delicious pizza and salad, a little out of the usual, but fabulous. My favorite is the pizza with mushrooms and spinach. It is fantastic!
Remember back in the day when our weekly outings included trying new restaurants that we had coupons for? These sound like they'd be fun to try:)
Yes! I remember! Good memories... :)
I've never been to a FOX restaurant (that I know of). I keep wanting to go to Sauce, but when we do have the opportunity to go out, I never rembmer it! Thanks for the recomendation. :)
We've never been to one but I'll make sure we try one next time we have the chance. Thanks for the info!
I hadn't ever heard of FOX, but when I went to their Web site, I was delighted to discover that they have a restaurant at which I've already eaten and liked quite a bit that's just a 10-minute drive from my house.

Thanks a ton Stephanie! We love Fox resturants- I've had wonderful experiences at Sauce, Blanco, and a great post-baby #1 date at Montana Ave. I am thinking we may try Zinburger for our first baby #2 date. We are like you- super disappointed if we spend the time and $ to go out and the food & experience is subpar. I'll keep you posted.
I know it's not trendy, but I actually prefer my mozzarella cooked, with something tomato sauced.
I went to Sauce once and North once, and I've been to Montana Avenue several times with the in-laws. In fact, Montana Avenue has the BEST dessert ever--this big cinnamon sugar doughnut with sweet dipping sauce. I'm drooling right now thinking about it!
i like fox restaurants... sauce might be my favorite. They are SO yummhy
What is this? I've never heard of Fox! I want to learn more!!
What a neat concept. I've not heard of FOX restaurants before and from what you shared I'd love to try it! Thanks for sharing, I'll keep them in mind if we travel to any of those states!
love them! Especially Sauce and Greene House. Want to try Zinburger soon!
I have been to a couple of FOX restaurants, and love them! We are like you- very rarely go out. So, when we do we want it to be "worth it."
I love Blanco and North, and have heard amazing things about Zinburger.
FOX is the best! Sam Fox is extremely talented, that is for sure. Zinburger is my new favorite, in fact, a few days ago when we had our second son, my husband went and got it for us for dinner and brought it to the hospital. AMAZING!
Well, you already know how I feel about Fox restaurants, but your readers might not, so let me echo its praises. Fox restaurants are THE BEST restaurants in town. Hands down. We've introduced more than one of our "couple friends" (including your first commenter!) to the chain and gotten them hooked. And for our date nights, it's always a Fox restaurant!
I love that they offer such a variety of restaurants to choose from, and I think it is most excellent that so many are located in Scottsdale so it's like I don't have to decided right away where I want to eat - decide on the drive over. That helps because I am often decisive when we eat out because I want to make sure I really want it to justify the cost.
We don't eat out that often either, but I have been to Sauce before, and it was wonderful! I love the unique combinations they have, like Potato and Spinach Pizza.
We eat out once in a blue moon. Yes that includes fast food, I just like the quality of food I serve at our dinner table better. We do like to eat where our food has been cooked not fried. I am not against fried, we just don't eat too much of it.
Mmmmm... I've been to Blanco, Sauce, and North (all good), and Chris has been to Zinburger (he liked that, too). I'd love this one!
I have never tried these places but they sound wonderful! We don't go out to eat often and I would much rather spend money on good and healthy food.
I LOVE Fox Restaurants too. We are similar to you as we don't eat out too much...in fact, only when we have gift cards. And, I love supporting restaurants that aren't mega chains...and fortunately Tucson seems to excel in having lots of locally owned restaurants...yay Tucson!
Yum!! I love Fox restaurants! In fact, I asked my little boys where they want to go for a Mommy and me dinner to celebrate the end of the year today, and they chose Blanco!
